The Joy of Giving The Forgotten International is honored to welcome His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to join in conversation with several philanthropists about "The Joy of Giving." His Holiness will discuss the necessity of compassion for others in our global community, while our guest philanthropists share what the experience of giving brings to their lives. Only 30 tables will be available at this event. At each table, eight seats are for purchase, while the two remaining seats are reserved for representatives of Bay Area nonprofit organizations. In this way, we hope to have in our audience all members of the giving community, both those who donate to causes they care about, as well as those who work directly with the most needy in our community. |
Security Requirements For the safety of all our guests, and of course, for that of His Holiness. All guests will be required to pass through metal detectors before they enter the event room. Anything brought into the room is subject to be searched by security officers. We ask that all guests arrive by 8:00am to allow time for the security screening. ~ Small purses will be allowed, but we discourage large bags and backpacks of any size. ~ Cell phones must be turned off. ~ No cameras or recording devices will be allowed. There will be a Coat Check at the hotel for your use. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance. |

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has, for more than 40 years, travelled the globe to promote the causes of peace, environmental responsibility, inter-faith dialogue, and compassion. He has authored dozens of books and has received countless awards for his work, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. When asked, His Holiness describes himself as "a simple Buddhist monk." |
